Not Quite a Mission Statement

We're looking for submissions for our upcoming anthology following the Anderson family through time. Any genre is fine, as is any time period, though the further back in time you go the more likely the subject matter won't have been covered by someone else.

The Andersons exist in the Wold Newton universe. So, crossovers with literary and real life characters and concepts are not only allowed, but encouraged (within reasonable copyright limits of course, we don't want to get sued).

We're looking at e-book publishing once we get enough submissions with a possible printed version, from Lulu or someplace, if there is sufficient interest.

FAQ

  • So, wait, anything goes? More or less. Magic is fine, aliens are fine, strange women lying about in pond distributing swords are fine too. The stranger the concept, the more likely it is we'll like it!
  • Are you looking for anything in particular? The further in the past your story is set, the more likely it is it will be accepted. We have a surfeit of stories set in the recent past. Anything pre 1970s is great. Anything pre 1800s is gold! We are NOT looking for stories about Kate Anderson at this time. We got plenty, thank you!
  • If I want to find out more, where should I look? Glad you asked. Up top here are a couple of tabs that have more information on the Anderson family. If you feel like using one of those characters, great! But remember, we don't need Kate stories right now.
  • How long should it be? Submissions should be 500-4,000 words. If it's good, either shorter or longer stories will be considered.
  • Formatting? Have you any? Either American or British formatting is fine, just so long as you are consistent. Please submit documents in either Word of OpenOffice format. Or in the body of your email, if you like.
  • Any tips? Yeah, including a character with the last name Cheveley getting killed is always good.
  • I don't think I understood that last one. That's not a question. But that's OK. It's a long running joke in the Anderson stories.
  • OK, I've read all this. Now, where should I send my story? andersonanthology@gmail.com
